The Parkway is a main thoroughfare in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, running parallel to the Little Pigeon River and serving as the town's central commercial district.

The history of the Parkway dates back to the early 1900s when the town was first established. At the time, the main road through Gatlinburg was a narrow dirt road, often impassable in bad weather. However, with the growing popularity of tourism in the area, the town began to expand and develop, and the need for a proper road system became increasingly apparent.

In the 1920s, the town began to pave the main road, which was then known as Highway 71. The road was widened and improved over the years, and in the 1950s, it was renamed the Parkway. The Parkway continued to grow and expand in the following decades, becoming a hub of tourist activity with numerous shops, restaurants, and attractions.

However, the Parkway has also faced challenges over the years, including damage from flooding and fires. In 2016, the town was devastated by the Gatlinburg wildfires, which destroyed several businesses along the Parkway.

Today, visitors can stroll down the Parkway, enjoying the many shops, attractions, and restaurants that line the street while taking in the scenic beauty of the surrounding Great Smoky Mountains.
