Our hiking route through the southern Carmel region takes us through the Timsah stream, which translates to "crocodile" in English. This name is used specifically to refer to natural or Nile crocodiles, which once inhabited this area. The Timsah Gorge merges with Nahal Taninim, creating the swampy area known as Timsah.
