In a wall painting next to the address you can see what the monastery that stood in this place looked like. From the tower of the monastery, observations were made on the movement of the Turkish forces besieging Vienna. It was one of the highest places in the city. A hospital for soldiers was opened in the basements of the monastery. Today there is a restaurant here.
Extremely recommend spending two hours in Vienna with guide Tom. He tells the stories of the city and its history in the short, interesting and elegant way. The trip starts from Stephan Platz, passes through the streets of Graben, the Jewish quarter, Am Hof and ends at Ferstel Palace and the Mekler cellar.
