The scientific name of the giraffe is Camelopardalis. It came from the Latin Cameleopard (camel leopard). This name was given in ancient Rome because animals can do without water for a long time, like a camel, and has spots like a leopard has. An adult giraffe weighs 1-2 tons. Moreover, 250 kg of this amount weighs the neck, and 10 kilograms weighs the heart. The spots on the skin of a giraffe are unique, like human fingerprints. The giraffe’s sleep time is no more than 10 minutes at a time, and since giraffes spend standing almost their whole life, they also sleep while standing.
The safari and zoo in Ramat Gan near Tel Aviv is the largest zoological center in the Middle East. Scientific research is carried out at the zoo, and there is a veterinary clinic. The territory of the zoo is beautifully designed and conveniently equipped. My biggest tip before visiting the zoo: Don't be lazy to walk.
