Наполеон не смог захватить город Акко, который находится на противоположной стороне хайфского залива. Наполеон отступал, оставив раненых и больных в монастыре. Арабский правитель Акко - Эль Джазар ворвался в монастырь после ухода основных войск и перебил всех, кто в нем находился.
